February 13th was a day for "firsts" for Chase Austin. This was his first experience in a Camping World Truck, his first time drafting in a truck and his first official race at Daytona International Speedway. Chase adapted to the handling of the truck very well throughout the running of the Truck Series opener. What may have been even more impressive was his ability to work the draft in packs of trucks running two- and three-wide. He held an average position of around 15th to 20th for most of the race and finished the race with a top fifteen. Austin was able to maneuver his way through a number of multi-truck accidents to propel him and the No. 32 Trail team to the 13th-place result.
