Kansas Museum of History Cars: The Need for Speed Special Exhibits Gallery Through Nov. 28, 2010
Kansas' fascination with car culture has a long history. A number of early cars were manufactured in the state, Walter Chrysler was born here, and the National Hot Rod Association held its first national championship in the state. President Dwight Eisenhower, a Kansas native, championed the interstate highway system, and we claim the first completed stretch of interstate in the nation.
